i-LIFT Methodology

What is I-LIFT?

Islamization of Knowledge

Children are introduced to the Quranic verses that are supported by scientific findings. They are taught that everyday life must be referred to the Holy Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The children are also taught that Quran is not only for mere reading but as the main guidance in conducting individual’s daily life.

Example : Why  do we have two eyes?
Quranic verse         : “Did We not assign unto him two eyes.”

                                    (Al-Balad, 90 : 8)

Five Senses Stimulation

Children use their five senses (touch, taste, hear, sight & smell) to explore the world around them and record the information gathered from every single experience in their memory banks. Once a baby is born, these senses are sharpened with incredible speed, precision, capacity and accuracy.

These senses must be stimulated at early stage (first years of life), and then further enhanced once the child enters into primary school.

Learning Through Experience

Children learn through active involvement with things around him. Playing and experiment are the most common methods of involvement. Playing and simple experiments are essential in providing hands-on experience and thus, become the learning tools for children.

Learn through play / experiments provides answers to children’s curiosity about their environment. Expose them to a wide variety of ‘best’ quality toys that will stimulate the full range of cortical skills and multiple intelligences.

Total Child Development

The development of 4 aspects of children’s growth that can only be qualitatively measured-physical, language, cognitive and social-emotional. This can be achieved by providing sufficient opportunities to the children to undergo the above methods of education as early as possible in order to balance up the development of all aspects of the growth. It is crucially important to stop or divert the kuffar early intervention to the children’s mind through our holistic approach of education.

Integrative Learning

The method of learning a theme/topic by combining the input from all subjects using different approaches in order to stimulate and enhance the five senses given by Allah s.w.t.

Example : Learning about ‘My Family’

Language : the introduction of vocabularies – father, mother, sister, brother, grandfather, grandmother, aunty, uncle, cousin

Mathematics : How many family members do you have?

Science : How were you born?

Islamic Teaching : Who is the Creator of you? What is the Quranic verses that relate to the creation of man?

Nursery Rhymes : My Mother (by: Yusof Islam)

The approaches include the use of educational CDs, VCDs, story books, worksheets, simple experiment, field trips, outdoor class, scrap books, etc.
